by Brian Keene. It is a zombie novel but it does not take place in the same reality as his earlier novels The Rising 
andCity of the Dead
. If you haven't read anything by Keene, ty reading the Rising and then Dead Sea to see his two different takes on the zombie genre. My first experience with Brian was The Conqueror Worms. The Conqueror Worms 
is a post apocalypic, giant monster novel that throws in elements of Lovecraft
and the Old Testament for a gory good time. I have also read The Rising and Dark Hollow 
and hoping to read City of the Dead after I finish Dead Sea. If you love good horror check out Brian Keene and if you live in the Gettysburg area, you can meet him in person at Horrorfind Weekend on Labor Day weekend
. It looks decent. There is no United States distribution as of yet. Hopefully we can get to see the original before we get a watered down version for "American sensibilities."

. It is a visually breathtaking film with a wonderful cast. The actor whos replaced Ledger in the imagination scenes all fit in well physically they looked just enough like Heath that you could believe they were imaginary dopplegangers. No only that but all three are excellent actors and it is a tribute to Heath that they would fill in. I'm talking about Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, and Jude Law off course. Also worth mentionng is Tom Waits
, who looks like he was born to play the devil. The story is bittersweet but beautiful and it is definitely worth watching.
the animated feature by Rob Zombie. I loved The Devil's Rejects but this is by far Rob's best film. It may be animated but it is not for the kids. raunchy, raw, gory and funny as hell it is a must see for Zombie fans. It features the usual cast of Zombie characters (Sheri Moon, Sid Haig, Dee Wallace) as well as Tom Pappas as El Superbeasto 
and Paul Giamatti as Dr. Satan. The soundtrack, as usual in a Zombie film, is beyond excellent.
. Nothing really good to mention as the two attractive leads cannot save this boring mush of a vampire film. Don't believe the top billing of Scout Taylor Compton
as she only has a bit part. Also it is not nearly as sexy as the box would have you believe. Can't really recommend this to anone beyond Sophie Monk 
fans and she has much better films out there.
we saw a woman physically and mentally abused but not destroyed. Even though they tried to destroy her self worth she was able to recuperate and go on a blood soaked trail of revenge. I guess we should hope for the best but expect just another souless Hollywood remake.

by Charlene Harris and features Ana Paquin as Sookie Stackhouse a waitress who doubles as a telepath. In True Blood vampires have come "out of the coffin" and announced themselves to the world. The series uses the conflict between vampires and humans as a metaphor of racial and sexual orientation tensions in the south, and across America.
started out as a gothic soap opera before Jonathon Frid joined the cast as Barnabbas Collins. Looked at fondly by horror fans, Dark Shadows suffered from a low budget and shaky acting (and shaky sets) at times. Still it brought something to daytime TV that viewers had never seen before. The show spawned a remake in the 80s with better production values but handsome Ben Cross could not replace Frid in the minds of fans. A Dark Shadows movie is currently in the works from Tim Burton and Johnny Depp

- Based on the movie with Kristy Swanson, Luke Perry and Pee Wee Herman, the series took a more serious turn. Hailed by critics for its realistic portrayal of teens. The show starred Sarah Michelle Gellar replacing Swanson as Buffy. It brought stardom not only to its cast but to director Joss Whedon. Featuring a vampire-human love affair between Buffy and Angel
, and later Buffy and Spike, that predates Twilight's angst fest. Angel went on to his own spin off series.
